This statement is my
commitment to privacy. I believe that privacy is extremely important
in Internet marketing, and my general policy is that IÝwill not share
information with anyone unless she or he has agreed to follow this
privacy policy and the information is necessary to provide customer
service, or unless I have the customer's permission to share the information
for a specific purpose. Examples and exceptions to this general policy
are discussed on this page and on the pages where the information
is requested.
The main purpose of my Ann Arbor Real Estate Power Service web sites
is to provide consumers with information on the Ann Arbor Michigan
area real estate market and to obtain permission from interested consumers
to provide more detailed and up-to-date information on Ann Arbor area
real estate.
Some pages ("departments" in my virtual office metaphor) provide information
on specialty areas of real estate or products and services that may
be of interest to consumers. I have agreements with the RealtorsÆ,
independent contractors, and sales representatives who "staff" these
departments. They have all agreed to provide my customers with exceptional
customer service and to follow the privacy policy on this page. |
| What Information
Does This Site Gather About Customers? |

Most of the forms
on this site request contact information (such as name, address,
phone and fax numbers, and e-mail address), demographic information
(zip code), and information on consumer preferences for real estate
and in the case of some department pages, product and service
preferences.
My mortgage department page also requests unique identifiers (social
security number) and financial information (salary and monthly
expenses).
My server is maintained and hosted by a vendor. The server compiles
access and referrer logs which contain information such as domain
names, IP addresses, client operating system and browser, and
access times.
My HomeSearchWizard site uses cookies to temporarily store a search
URL. This is necessary to enable the customer to return to a hit
list page from a detailed information page. The cookie expires
at the end of the customer's session. The search URL is not stored
on the server side.

Do With the Information It Gathers or Tracts? |
Contact information is
used to provide consumers with the products and services requested.
When the consumer asks for information on the Ann Arbor area real
estate market, I prefer to deliver information over the Internet using
e-mail. I often will follow-up with a phone call to ensure that the
information that I have provided is the information that the consumer
needs. I use the postal address to send information of general interest
on the Ann Arbor area such as a "City Guide" and maps.
My policy is to limit service to consumers who do not provide a phone
number to one week. The reason for this policy is simply security.
I do not show real estate with out establishing phone contact to set
or confirm the appointment.
Information compiled by my server is reviewed to determine the Internet
search resource used by consumers to find my site and the pages consumers
visit. I do not down load the server log files. |
| With Whom Does
the Site Share the Information it Gathers or Tracks? |

When a consumer provides information on a virtual-department form,
that information is shared with the individual staffing the department.
Contact and consumer preference information may be shared with other
real estate agents in order to provide timely customer service.
The addresses of consumers living outside of Washtenaw County Michigan
are forwarded to HSW Realty, Inc. (the broker with which I affiliate)
Relocation Department where they are kept on file. The reason the
Relocation Department keeps these address is to prevent real estate
agents from claiming a referral fee. |

Consumers who wish to
have their name and all other information deleted from my data base
may e-mail their request to fred@fward.com. Information will be
deleted upon receipt of such a request.
Generally I deactivate a name after no longer than 6-12 months unless
a customer requests service for a longer period.
